Ask Me I’m A Local

There is a grass roots initiative taking place right now in Whistler and it’s a perfect example of why I love this town. Janis McKenzie’s ‘Ask Me I’m A Local’ is truly born from that very same love.

Janis, as I’m sure many of us will agree, believes that at the root of every positive guest experience there is a friendly local. With 2010 looming there are mixed feelings in the air in terms of how our lives will change in February. Of course the economy is a major player as well. But this movement is about putting our best foot forward. I now from his letter to the editor in a recent edition of the Pique that Scott Carrall would most certainly agree. Why not show the world, not just during the Olympics but beyond, that our little mountain town is overflowing with positive and supportive characters.

Please take the time to register at www.askmeimalocal.com. Get a pin and wear it proudly. Give some directions, suggest a restaurant or take a tourist’s photograph. Let’s put our best foot forward. What have we got to lose?
