Rotary=Family Fun

Whistler Rotarians have once again stepped up to bat in an effort to inject much needed family friendly events into the community. On September 20th hundreds of parents and kids descended on Meadow Park. Under a blue bird sky kids enjoyed traditional games like the three legged, potato and wheelbarrow races as well as had their faces painted by the talented Linda Marshall. The Whistler Kids Got Talent Show was also a huge hit. Having performed on a stage or two in my time I know how daunting it can be, but many of these little gems shone through with flying colors.

A huge thanks to all the local businesses and organizations who donated their time, goods and services. I even learned a few new things about recycling from the good folks at Carneys. From BBQ’s to Bouncy Castles this day was a hit. If anyone has suggestions for other family events or if you would like to get involved next year, please respond with your thoughts.
